The Southwestern Contemporary was designed and built as a compliment to a master suite on the 1st floor of a Cleveland Heights home.  Featuring limestone instead of marble gives it a comfortable, soft appearance while still allowing a great deal of detail.  In the photos below you can see how the use of small limestone tiles in a repeating pattern on the walls of the shower and in the floor's boarder gives a subtle effect to the room.  To enhance the feeling of natural "unfinished" surfaces, the sinks are hand-hammered from nickel-plated brass, and the countertop is made from granite.

The Project:
Remodel the 1st floor master bath of a 1957 Georgian-style home.  Create space by moving the walls between the bathroom and a storage closet.  Add a whirlpool bath, his and her sinks, and a glass-enclosed shower.

Location:
Cleveland Heights, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland).

Size:
Before:  1 room, 110 square feet
After:  1 room, 135 square feet
